A movement once took pride
In freedoms most hard won
Speak it hushed inside
The deed seems to be done

Surrendering those gains
Liberty by the hour
The great leader proclaims
‘I’ll use my firepower!’

With unlimited resources
You’d better know the lines
‘We’ll unleash our armed forces
Drown you in untold fines’

Why must we all adhere
To those voted with heed?
Our taxes make it clear
Their pay is guaranteed

And what is the position
Of those across the box?
There is no opposition
Lips sealed tight with padlocks

Consider things such as
The rights so long survived
The only question, has
The police state arrived?
